I use a tiling window manager i3-wm with xorg-xserver and tmux/screen when xserver is not running. I use lightweight applications. Also I disable all unnecessary processes to make it the most lightweight.

I am thinking of creating a small factor pc (preferably fanless and noiseless( which serves as a voip(aterisk)+sip (openSER) proxy and also as a wireless multimedia pc like miniMac which can be connected to the 52" Plasma TV with wireless mouse and keyboard and remote control.

I wish if the experts here could advise where to start with which components?
