I've been using remote desktop over the wide area network internet for months (like now, I am remote desktoped to my home computer 60 miles away). Even more, at home I have a desktop and a laptop connected, of course, through a wireless network. Most of the time, my laptop is remote desktoped to my desktop which is more powerful, but the benefit of the laptop is that it is portable.
