The poor comparison between EK and the music industry isn't a matter of business models but of core product viability. Digital photography replaces Kodak's core product lines. The core product of RIAA (properly pronounced as Ripping-off Innocent Artists Always) isn't the media, it's the music. P2P "sharing" doesn't replace the core product, only the distribution method.
The RIAA's tactics offend me to no end, and I prefer to see them put in their place without using tactics similar to theirs, such as poor comparisons that sound good but are inaccurate.
