Comment We are a recent cord cutter! (Score 1) 156

Went from $240 a month for triple play to about $120 for about the same service.
Here's what I am using:
1. OTA with Tablo (4 channel at a time recording) - 5tb hard drive. We record EVERYTHING! We get about 35 channels, crystal clear.
2. Playstation Vue
3. Dropped the phone line - wife doesn't miss the junk calls and kids are grown so no strong need for 911.

We continue to have these services.
1. Netflix
2. Hulu plus
3. Amazon prime

Right, these are mostly medium to low wage workers. You can't compare these numbers with Google and Microsoft. It's a different type of work force.
You need to compare it against the likes of Walmart.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... says Walmart has 2.3 million employees.

Clearly a case of too much deving and not enough oping.
I see no mention of alarms. With all those failures there must have been some notification.
Chances are they were lost in the nested folders of outlook with millions of other false alarm alerts.
They must have a mirrored test zone that they can copy from.
Lesson learned. Test your backups, regularly!
