I buy CDs.

"Buy" access to a song on a streaming service that will go out of business and permanently revoke my access? No thanks.

Or, buy and download a song in an electronic format, which will then be lost if I have a disk crash? Again, no thanks.

Physical media is worth the cost, IMHO. I can rip it to .ogg files and listen to them, keeping the CD as a backup.

Nonsense. With the larger company, they'll be better positioned to provide more competitive offerings to their executives. Sure, prices will go up and quality of service will go into the crapper, but the important thing is that they'll be able to pay the staff in the executive suites more. Lear jets don't buy themselves, you know.

You absolutely have free speech. That does not mean that others have an obligation to host and propagate homophobic and hateful content.

If you wish to insist that advocating your own supremacy over others based upon their race is nothing but wine and roses, you're welcome to do so but that doesn't mean we have to accept your assertions as The Truth.

That's the problem with some people on various ends of the political spectrum today. Too often they confuse "free speech" with an absolute right to make assertions that are personal opinion and then insist that they not be contradicted in any manner, regardless of facts.

Uhhh...China's about to enter a population collapse the likes of which the world has NEVER SEEN. The cities may be sinking, but I don't think that population growth is a problem they need to worry about.

Submission + - Election Assistance Commission hacked using SQL injection. (reuters.com)

whoever57 writes: The commission that is responsible for ensuring the integrity of voting machines was itself hacked. The hacker gained access to non-public reports on weaknesses in voting machines. The hack occurred after the election, so it is unlikely that this hack resulted in changing the result. However, if one hacker can break in, how does anyone know that there was not a prior hack?

The hack used an SQL injection flaw to gain access to usernames and passwords which were then cracked.
