The Solid project is a related initiative with similar goals. Turns out to really get away from centralised systems you need a bit more than just a server and a few mobile phone clients. The Solid community has been working on protocol specs and implementations for quite some time, probably worth aligning with them.

On the contrary, china already has shrinking co2 exhaustion despite rising energy usage, Europe has been on the Co2 decline for quite a while and this change was sped up by the 2022 invasion of the ukraine! India soon will have peak oil. The USA and their backwards thinking government which wants to live in the 19th century is not the world!

Japan from what I could gather is even more toxic, they do not expect you to work all the time, but you habe to be in the office at least as long as your boss is, now your boss has to do the same for his boss etc... in the end everybody stays for long hours and does not dare to take vacations because some upper level maniac thinks his office is his home!

i have seen businesses migrating away from oracle for the same reasons... problem is most businesses wont, because they are too afraid. So they are banking on the experiences oracle had with gouging their customers they are aware some will leave but if the net income is higher with the remaining customers, they have won!
