I do not frequent (or use, at all) sites that demand I relinquish my ad blocker.
I am not addicted to YouTube, though I do occasionally view stuff there, so I can EASILY stop using it, should their attempts to force the issue become burdensome.
Similarly, I try to avoid using Chrome, because it is well known that they scrape all kinds of info from it, including name/address/IP address/sites visited, etc., etc.
(I am assuming that Chromium is free of such anti-user-oriented malware..., but I mostly use Firefox, only use others when they don't work with firefox.)
It isn't the electric car that is killing off the spare tire, IT IS THE AUTOMAKERS who are looking for ways to save a couple of bucks!
I have been using xylitol for about a year as a sweetener for tea (don't do coffee), to reduce the effects of sugar on my teeth. A couple of thoughts arise:
1. how chemically similar are xylitol and erythritol (I iknow they are both sugar alcohols, but not much more).
2. anyone know of any similar studies on xylitol?
Thanks!
I'm a cheapskate, and as such I cannot justify spending a thousand dollars (or more) for a TELEPHONE. Yeah, I know, it'll do a lot more than that, but the principle is the same: it's simply too much money.
I'm still using my old (carrier-branded) Alcatel One Touch 768T flip phone. replaced the battery once with an actual Alcatel battery.
only thing that doesn't work anymore is the little low-res display on the outside of the flip/cover. big deal. It still makes phone calls.
Yeah, I know, in this context I'm a luddite. Even at 300-400 dollars, for a low-end smartphone, it's more than I want to spend.
yes, that was my immediate thought, too: fill it with Boeing execs!
MS is now well into the Extend part of the process.
"ringer" ==> "wringer"
the two aren't the same. based on the context, he should have used the latter, not the former.
i've always thought that (if management wants the worker bees to work in that environment) a conmpany's board of directors should mandate that EVERYBODY works in that environment, CEO, President, VPs, HR,.... EVERYONE!
then we'll see how long that policy lasts.
Reminds me of (and most of you are probably too young to remember this) when Congress mandated that all 1974-model cars (and later) are required to have a seat belt interlock such that the engine will not start unless the belt is fastened on every occupied seat.
well, very quickly after the 1974 models came out, they got together and repealed that regulation!
how can I return to FB when I've never been there?

But none of the proposed layouts have the F-keys. doesn't anyone other than me think that's a non-feature?
I used to use an XT keyboard. When the AT came out I played with one a little and noted to myself that the keyboard didn't feel as nice.
still, the At keyboard beats heck out of any modern membrane keyboard. and better than my cherry-mx keyboard too, though it also beats heck out of any membrane keyboard.
I used to have some Northgate keyboards, and regret having ever disposed of them.
