Journal: Patent 6820802: Online card activation system and method

I found this patent from 2001 amusing. Apparently anyone who wishes to move their game/credit card activation system from the phone to the Internet, has to go through this patent first. It seems pretty obvious to me, and I wonder if anyone has actually taken this patent seriously?
