The usual suspects report that although Intel's official release schedule still says August, Merom is already shipping to PC manufacturers, alongside Conroe. Why the hush-hush and doublespeak?

Core 2 laptops could be available to the public as early as... hmm... August 7th (just to pick a date purely at random).
