The Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) watered down a lot of local content laws amongst many other things and was, in general, a bad deal for Australians. Local content laws are one of the reasons why Canada for example, has such vibrant music and TV industries, and why after the agreement was signed, Australia's started to decline.
