One day in June when I had it on the table and the backlight of the display flickered alittle and then went totally black.
OK, I thought. I will probably have it back in 1-2 weeks when I take it to my local Apple certified service shop. I have now been waiting for it 7 weeks and one day(!) and the service shop hasn't taken any responsability and always says just 'call Applecare'.
I called the service shop every now and then asking for the status. And even Applecare everybody just said to wait, the display should come any day.
After 5 weeks I finally, after much argumenting, got Apple to change the whole computer (not just the screen), since they couldn't get any screens to it!
Waited one more week, called the service shop, they said they are still waiting for the new computer. Waited one more week, called the service shop once again, saying the same thing and said to call Apple (it should be their thing to do it). Finally got through to the one Finnish speaking person at Applecare. She checked the computer and told that the case should be closed and I should have my computer! I told her the facts and she promised to call later.
An hour later she called and said because of a mixup they hadn't even shipped the new computer! Jeesh, I couldn't even 1.3GHz version as compensation (have a 1.25GHz now).
Hopefully I will get it next week, my everyday life is really being disturbed by not being able to store/accessing information from my laptop. But, it will probably take 2-4 weeks more...
