I don't think they'd have to increase the resolution all that much to make it much more usable. If they increase the screen size to 160x240 like Agenda's Linux-based handheld, it would be much easier to read memos and ebooks in landscape mode. The Newton MessagePad 110-130 had a 240x320 screen, and the horizontal resolution was quite adeqate. Ebooks would be a lot easier to read if more than six words fit on a line.
