I think this is a rather premature statement for Intel to make, and I hope AMD is laughing their heads off at this article. True, the number of mega(giga-)hertz we can squeeze out of a processor might be reaching its peak, but that doesn't mean the performance of that processor is going to peak out also. Unless Intel changes their "all that matters is hertz" philosophy, they're going to hit a brick wall and AMD will just cruise right on by. Make a small modification to Moore's Law by saying that the PERFORMANCE of processors will double rather than their speed, and AMD could keep this going for quite some time.
