I used to get up early to watch the shuttle launches on TV. It was my 26th birthday.

I don't suppose I'll ever forget the calm voice saying they had lost telemetry but were trying to get it back, and just saying that over and over ...while the pictures were showing very bad news.

I don't watch manned launches live any more.
