It's been 16 years since I've felt inspired to comment on Slashdot, but I'm breaking silence to congratulate you on achieving your goal (I assume) of being the worst, most ignorant version of yourself. It must take a concerted effort to become such a cartoonish portrayal of the worst stereotype imaginable of a red-pilled incel. To be so completely wrong in a public forum, and to have no shame about it, is genuinely impressive.

Not in a positive way, of course. You're a small-minded tool with a pathologically broken view of the world, tilting against windmills that aren't even related to the thread you're commenting on, and I hope that any woman or employer with the misfortune of crossing your path sees the testament to ignorance and impotent rage you've turned your sad life into, and regards you with every bit of the respect that you've earned.

I don't want a home cine. I just want to hook up my TV and watch movies on it like we always did in the 1980's and 1990's. I don't want to have to do advanced research to be able to hear. My dad and my father-in-law really don't want to have to do research.

The results most people are looking for is not theater quality surround sound.

Texting before/instead of calling isn't cumbersome. It's just good manners because me having to interrupt what I'm doing to take a phone call is insanely cumbersome. If you're calling out of the blue it had better be because somebody is dead. If not, send a text. And don't text to say "call me" - say what you want to talk about, so I can prioritize it.

Also, on Android there's already a great app called Screentime that parents can use to manage their children's devices. I think it's pretty lousy and hypocritical of Apple to introduce a similar feature with the exact same name. Do they believe in intellectual property and trademarks or not? Do they want theirs respected?

This sounds a little bit confused and muddled. I can't tell if the motivation here is:

  1. App developers might be spying on your kids
  2. Apple already has a feature to do this and doesn't want competition.
  3. It's legitimate for a business to know everything that happens on their devices, but not legitimate for a parent to know everything that happens on their child's devices.

None of those endears Apple to me, and my wife just read this story and said, "Well, that seals it - our kids won't have any Apple devices."
