Microsoft tried this like twice (if not thrice) since Windows 8.
As to the subject: "Desktop class applications and networking. Not the crippled stuff that you find on most phones."
Too bad that browsers didn't caught some better scripting language like Lua or something else early on, now we're stuck with javascript for basically forever.
Didn't they all learn -
- from the BMG-Rootkit scandal
- about piracy being a service problem
- about tamper-protections only hurting paying customers
before?
