Even counting transmission and conversion losses,
Pure electric vehicles still use 1/4 of the energy.
"A turbine should have about the best hydrocarbon economy - BUT it must be run in a very narrow range to archive that and has a very slow ramp up making it uneconomical for cars and trucks."
Turbines are so much more effiecent you loose alot before you get to the losses of internal cumbustion.
