Gabe Newel has stated that if we reach the heath death of the universe, you can get a new account with all your games on the next one. You just have to provide proof that you came from this universe.

Of course you have to move to a universe where steam exists, but I think you'll find valve is operating on most of them.

http://www.displax.com/en/products/families/overlay.html has linux in text, so it appears their search sucks.

It's a different product, but at least it seems to indicate they do have some linux support. Their press release doesn't seem to indicate any OS (google maps, social networking, display photos, all of which can be done in any OS.) though, so I guess you'll have to check back later.

Also, a search around the internet gets you some news that say it can work with e-ink and oled, and since most (all?) of the e-book readers run linux, if they where thinking about that market, they can probably make it work with it. If those news are correct of course, as I couldn't find anything about e-ink in their press release.

OK, I've bought a few from GOG, but they still do it right.

I think it's freaking ridiculous that I can go to an on-line shop and get a game delivered to my door, for half the price I can get it from Steam.

Digital media. It's much cheaper, but we get to keep the profits, pass none of the savings to the customer, and you pay more for the "convenience".

No, they don't. Only a handful of games allow you to give duplicate games as a gift, and even then only through special circumstances, as detailed here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4502-TPJL-2656

Extra copies are a special promotion for users who:
1. Purchase the "Left 4 Dead Four Pack" on Steam
2. Own "Half-Life 2" and/or "Half-Life 2: Episode One" and then go on to purchase "The Orange Box" or the "Valve Complete Pack"
3. Own "Half-Life 2: Episode One" and/or "Half-Life 2: Episode Two" and then go on to purchase the "Half-Life 2: Episode Pack" or the "Valve Complete Pack"

Can I be the one?

Ok, I confess I only used vs up to version 2005, but that is mainly because I can only use it for MS programming. But if I could choose, I'd still choose eclipse over VS. Mylyn is great (if you use one of the supported connectors), and it really does help once you get used to it (which doesn't take very long). Better integration with SVN and most other vcs's. Great diff tool too. Also, source code view expanding when double clicking the tab. Debugging support for PHP, c/c++, python, java, etc.

And last, VS integration with tools that are not MS sucks.

So, when was the last time you used eclipse?
