The amish can drive and own cars. I live in the center of Pennsylvania and there are plenty of Amish. My neighbor is having an addition added to their house, built by amish. The Amish family drove up in a beat up dodge caravan, unloaded their power tools and off to work. They can own technology, kinda discouraged in some places but it's ok. They can always "borrow" technology, this is their loop hole. They do drive buggies and some stores around here have rails for the horses. They also go to Sams Club, grocery stores, mcdonalds...
