GO is not open sourcing their search engine. In fact, they don't even really own the rights to their own search engine any more - Ultraseek was sold to Inktomi. (See http://www.ultraseek.com)

What they are open sourcing is the content management software used for sites like Mr.Showbiz and ESPN.com and a few particular parts of the GO.com portal. Most of the GO.com portal is still built on an arcane, completely propreitary system, that could never feasibly be open-sourced!
