Submission + - Please Hack these voting machines to help Safeguard Democracy for 1.3 Billion (thehindu.com)

erodep writes: Following the recent elections in India, there have been multiple allegations of electoral fraud by hacking of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in Indian elections. Two weeks ago, a party even 'demonstrated' that these machines can be hacked (http://bit.ly/2qBU3hg). The Election Commission of India (ECI) has rubbished these claims and they have thrown an OPEN challenge (http://bit.ly/2qBFvym), starting June 3rd to hack these EVMs using WiFi, Bluetooth or any internet device. This is a plea to the hackers of Slashdot to help secure the future of the largest democracy on the planet.

Comment Double precision, floating point CUDA support (Score 1) 29

It remains to be seen what support these mobile cards have for double precision floating point (DPFP) operations used in scientific programming applications. The Nvidia 950 M card on the 15" Macbook Pro retina has poor support for DPFP operations and it is very difficult to check even a single test case on these machines. The Nvidia 950 M card offers a paltry 23 Gflops while the host i7 on the 15" Macbook pro offers 120 Gflops. See http://tinyurl.com/cuda-on-mac for details. What do Slashdotters recommend for a mobile, CUDA development laptop ?
