My understand of radio telescopes is that they can not detect gravitational waves. They detect radio waves, hence the name. This can be used in conjunction with LIGO, which, as far as I know, is the only telescope to ever detect gravitational waves. Some of the phenomena that this new radio telescope will look at should produce gravitational waves, but those waves are not detected by the telescope.

If you are on permanent and total disability, you aren't going to be able to pay off your student loans anyway. So all this does is write off the loses and save a huge amount of paperwork and money that the government would use to harass people with no hope of any benefit. Also, if the government already knows that these people are disabled as it states in the article, why would they need to verify it? I think what some people don't realize, is how hard it can be for someone who is totally disabled to jump through a bunch of hoops that the government puts up. Let's give them a break. I will also point out that private companies routinely do the same thing with people who they know aren't going to pay them. They write off the loss and move on.

I really think a lot of people are missing the point here. It's not that scantily clad sexy women are sexist per se, it's that this was a party that employees of a company were presumably encouraged to attend as well as an event showcasing the company's public face. In that environment, everyone should feel comfortable. If one wants to go to a strip club or club where there are go-go dancers, etc., that is their business and they can make that choice.
