Apparently you can now create EPUB's but you cannot even check if it's valid by reading your output.

CIStud writes with a story at CEPro suggesting that solar power and home batteries like Tesla's PowerWall "will force the reinvention of home wiring from primarily AC high voltage to DC home-run low voltage to reduce power conversion loss," writing "To avoid the 20% to 40% power loss when converting from DC to AC, home wiring will have to convert to home-run low-voltage, and eventually eliminate the need for high-voltage 110V electrical wiring." As a former full-time Airstream dweller, I can attest to the importance of DC appliances when dealing with batteries.

Also the confusion of "die See" and "das Meer" is brilliant:

In the languages I know:
English: sea - lake
French: mer - lac
German: Meer - See
Dutch: zee - meer

so a [lak] is always freshwater, but a [see] or a [meer] depends on where you are

Almost everyone I know that has a smartphone (~80% of the people I know) uses WhatsApp for messaging one-to-one and for groups.

The best part of the alcohol thingies is that if you do decide to use the one in your car to check your ability to drive, you are then breaking the law, as you will be driving without a (unused) alcohol thingie in your car.

The new light source is called field-induced polymer electroluminescent (Fipel) technology. It is made from three layers of white-emitting polymer that contain a small volume of nanomaterials that glow when electric current is passed through them. The developer is promising cheap, hard-to-break, mercury-free, highly efficient bulbs from 2013."

I second that, although IT just told me I may run linux on my 'old' (1yr old) laptop when my 'new' laptop arrives. The new one will probably only be used to gather dust and an occasional e-mail.
