Not really a new discovery (Score 1)

Sound engineers doing archival work or rework of content whose masters are only on tape have know about why and how to bake for ages. I suspect the mystery of why rewound tape degrades more quickly is interesting in theory. But once digitized properly and backed up, this isn't too much of a concern.
