During the last months I've created two new wikis with "fun" extensions :

- WikiPoll : a wiki with a poll extension. It becomes a political-oriented place (especially in the French part). The cross analysis tool provides a lot of interesting or fun data : for instance, you can check whether men earn more money than women...

- Wikipainting : a wiki for online collaborative painting. People can draw thanks to a Java applet. One click, and you can edit an image. You can look at the history of the images too. Unfortunately, many people like smearing images. Hopefully, there is a sandbox for them to have fun... I hoped it could provide a nice library of pictures licensed with Creative Commons (to illustrate Wikipedia for instance), but drawing is harder than expected. Maybe the drawing tool is not efficient enough ?

Some days ago, I had the idea of the "random chat", that's to say a chat between two people who don't know themselves. The goal is not online dating, but discussing, exchanging points of view on open subjects (news, advices...).

Actually, current communication tools (MSN ICQ Jabber email or even IRC) often let you talk inside your community. Wikipedia's article Chatroom deals with this problem : "Some would argue that these are not truly chat rooms as they are characterized by being one on one conversations with people in a users "buddy list"". It's often easier to talk to a stranger in the train than on the Internet.

ICQ has already developped a feature about random chat, but it has nothing to do with my idea. In ICQ's, you have to choose the age, sex, hobbies of your random stranger. In a word, it's dating.

Believe me, it's worth trying ; I already have some random chats, it's amazing. Note that :
- you don't have to introduce yourself at all
- you'll chat with someone who is open-minded (because he accepted to talk with a stranger)
- random chat is waste of time... But also exchange of views.
