Comcast. The company you love to hate. In 2014, they started charging me for HD, called took them two months to correct and credit the bill. In October 2015 they added a bogus "service call" onto my bill. Called and said I'd get a credit to zero out the charge. Instead of a credit, it was entered as a debit. Multiple calls, late fees added, many lies and broken promises. It was finally resolved last week. I now have a credit on my bill. When calling customer service, always ask for an American Call Center. Their call center in the Philippines doesn't even deserve the label "horrendous service".

Actually no, it wasn't an IRS software glitch. I work for the IRS and.... 1) the IRS is trying to catch people who are abusing the system (I know, cheaters, really?) so a lot of reprogramming was done. That's why the Form 8863 (Education Credit) processing was delayed until February 14. 2) H&R Block's software IS dropping two lines which caused the problems.

I used to write those slip sheets that come flying out of your IB (instruction book - we couldn't refer to it as an owner's manual). The problem was that the product would change from what it was originally envisioned as being when the cost realities hit, or if the engineers couldn't figure out how to make the product do what the marketing department wanted it to do. Got to love the consumer electronics biz...

But I got laid off and now someone in India is writing them. Oh Boy.
