This author's "vision" is tainted by his image of his existing laptop and cell phone. The PDA doesn't need to completely replace the laptop, it should look to replace the cell phone. The beauty of the PDA is instant on, instant access to your vital contact information and schedules. Who wants to write a document in pocket word? (although I wrote a trip report on the beach once with my Palm) Priority one would be wireless communication of all forms. Eliminate my need to carry my cell phone + PDA and I'd be very happy. And why do we need to hold a PDA to our head to talk? If a PDA had cell phone capabilities and a headset plug, it'd be all you need. You can't hold a cell phone and drive in NY any more, most states are considering similar legislation. A PDA in my pocket with a headset would be more functional
