Okay, I will just throw this out there...
Perhaps the number of Linux users registering is a side-effect due to the fact this game was linked to in a recent Slashdot article?

I got my first computer at age 12. I learned to use DOS (version 3 at the time IIRC). I even learned to hack away and change colours/variables/levels in several GWBASIC games I had at the time.

I thought I was a knowledgeable computer user.

Time went on, got a new PC (with Windows 3.1), upgraded to Windows for Workgrougps (3.11) and started supporting a small LAN at a lawyers office.

Now I really thought I was a knowledgeable computer user.
