First of al: since not only tech people but also random users have been disturbed, it IS as major incident. When users lose confidence in computer and softwares, it can be years before they can fully trust it once more. Second: event if it is only a one day disturbance for customers, since logicitics, administrations, theme parks, banks, hospitals have postponed things and must recover all the computers MANUALLY, it is a complete disaster for confidence in the product. For some, the impact is nearly the SAME as a very bad virus, nearly a ransomware. It cold have been forgiven for a small company. Here, I really think CrowdStrike CEO must resign. And the company can be brought to its knees. This kind of outage, from a security company that should consider availability and uptime as the biggest ressourceto preserve, and since those products are an incovenience everyday, CrowStrike deserves to disappear... They don't have the right mind to run that kind of business.

Are US device more secure? I think Europe should only consider european devices, so it might be too soon... US have proven being actively spying Europe, especially to undermine European economy in the past (thinking of Boeing vs Airbus and the spying of governement phones only for unfairly stole markets - or backdoors found in US network devices, or the manipulations of US to kill nokia at its very best). Now that China is better than US in tech development and production, they want to lock European market. Should Europe accept this enslavement? ... That's my reading - maybe not the truth, but sure part of it.
