The baffling thing is that RT could be alright. It could run re-compiled apps from anyone. Legacy software would be a problem, but anything actively developed would be ported with little effort. That would rock! There is actually a lot of really useful OSS software for windows.
That's what I've been saying. Microsoft made some really bone-headed decisions with Windows on ARM. It should have just been a simple recompile of Windows 8/8 Pro. That would have been so much better. A big thanks to the fine folks at XDA developer forums for figuring out how to change the executable signing requirement, and for all the work they've done recompiling win32 apps for ARM.
