Re:Push email on the Treo? (Score 1)

I have worked to establish the Active sync connection (which provides the continuous polling that looks to the user like push) to Exchange server on one of the Samsung versions, running on Verizon's network.

I have yet to accomplish it. Documentation on how to set it up is sparce, and at one point we had a representitive from Samsumg, (they support the Active sync portion) and Verizon (they support the network) on the phone neither of which seemed to have ever done this before.

Admittedly we were trying to use a secure connection using SSL (god forbid security). But it seemed that the ability to preload a self signed SSL certificate and not use one that was from the 'big boys' was impossible.

After a few hours of my working through the tech net articles on this, and the Samsung rep suggesting that we hard reset the unit a second time to 'clean it out' we simply gave up.

Until this becomes something that the public at large can accomplish easily and with security, it is all just more MS hype.
