Crap, I hope we're not headed down the iTunes road. You know, where they changed the UI every update, to the point where it breaks all your workflows, and you're just sick of hunting through menus to try and do what used to be simple. I gave up on iTunes a couple of years ago. Bad Apple! Bad!

They have been trying to make Bing, and before that MSN, happen since the 90s and despite being the default on billions of machines they still failed. Every now and then they try ramming it up the user's arse again and maybe see a short term spike in numbers, get that year's bonus in." This.

I basically use whatever's provided with the OS. I'd use Word. I mean, I used MS Office Suite for 28 for the last twenty-odd years, so I'm used to it's over-bloated ass. But MS is too expensive. Even their OS is too expensive (try buying it not bundled with hardware). Eh, Word hasn't been worth a damn since 5.1 Fortunately my text editing needs aren't complex, and Apple includes Pages. I miss ClarisWorks...

Bull pucky. Many people have never used a 'desktop' computer, at home, or at work. PC gamers are the only ones who really give a Hershey's squirt about desktops, them and maybe some corporate shops.

Same. But just ordered a new Mac Mini M1. You guys can go ahead and argue blah blah blah, I went through the first round of OS wars. I've supported a department full of Windows PC, run Linux & Sun servers, and played around with OSes for decades. At home, it's always been a Mac or a Linux box. Now in retirement, fuck it, I don't want to spend hours screwing around with computers to get them to work. So, back to the Mac. Big Sur will iron itself out in a couple of updates... And you guys can keep wasting your time arguing over which OS is best... I'll be over at the senior center picking up chicks.
