Comment 2 usb-c ports (Score 1) 446

If samsung does this, i hope they are concidering dual ports, one on the top and one on the bottom. Charging should always happen on the bottom, wires over the top can be annoying exp while talking on the phone. headset/headphones should always be on the top, it just makes things easier. If samsung chooses to go the route with top and bottom usb-c's i dont see any problem in it (converters can be made etc)

Nintendo To Take On Piracy In 3-D 249

crimeandpunishment writes "Nintendo says when its new handheld game device with 3-D technology comes out, it will have beefed-up anti-piracy measures. For obvious reasons, the company is keeping tight-lipped on the specifics. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata says they're not only concerned about software piracy, but also a growing tolerance for it. He said, 'We fear a kind of thinking is become widespread that paying for software is meaningless.'"

Apple Raises E-book Prices For Everyone 327

Nom du Keyboard writes "I was informed by my publisher this week that they would have to raise my e-book prices because they planned to sell them through the Apple iBooks store. How could this happen? A lot of my individual stories sell in the $1 to $3 range, which is well within the impulse purchase amount for many people. In this price range a 50-cent price difference may well be the difference between a purchase and a pass. Meanwhile, Apple is touting its new 'agency model,' whereby the publishers set the prices. However, it seems that Apple requires books sold in its iBook store have prices ending in .99 — nothing else." (More below.)
