In the grand scheme of things, this is relatively cheap, campaign financing wise.

People who avoid using it are just shooting themselves in the foot. I've tried renting out our apartments on several other commercial websites and Craigslist remains my preferred platform.

You neglected to mention that Ford's EV writedown is primarily due to very poor sales of their very expensive F150 Lightning electric truck line (bad choices here) and the costs of designing and manufacturing new plug-in hybrid designs previously lacking in their line-up (late to the party).

The US has subsidized nuclear power development from the beginning but I don't see conservative politicians bringing it up in their arguments. States in the US frequently provide subsidies and incentives to all sorts of businesses (new auto factories, semiconductor fabs, etc.).
