These two companies are huge donors to Obama, Look how they are willing to approve mergers. The previous net neutrality push was only to turn out the base, now it is time for the payback. What I am at a loss for, what about the turning over of the internet to international government bodies means for this policy change.

The United States isn't defined by our Government but our form of government and tradition/culture/history ......... which is the celebration of the individual. You must be thinking of another country's government which defines their country when you make these statements. They don't apply here.

Most Millionaires and Billionaires have Zero Yes Zero Income. When we say Millionaires and Billionaires, we are talking about their net worth (already previously taxed) and not their incomes. So who will this tax catch? Up and coming working Millionaires and Billionaires that haven't transitioned to living off their assets.

The discovery wasn't going to change anyone's life nor call for anyone to make changes in their life. Since it was non-threating, there wasn't any cost to accepting the discovery. People that heard of the discovery made an intelligent decision to accept this based on the cost of not-accepting it means they would have to learn more about the subject and the research. They just weren't willing to do that.

green technology not only has a profitability problem, it also has a green problem. We are finding many green technologies don't come close to delivering results that will make significant improvements in the environment....especially CO2. Lets face it, many green technologies are actually bad for the environment right now because they are defined as green in a theoretical future in which the support structure for this technology is green as well. Example: the electric car.

Latest study is in on the UK, Carbon Output and Energy Consumption Exploded as a result of banning Incandescent Bulbs. The study found that banning the Incandescent bulbs with subsidies for CFLs had the perverse affect of enabling people to go out and spend the money on other activities that emit more CO2 than what was saved resulting in a net increase in CO2 emissions. The example given in the study, if a home owner only took the average savings for using CFLs and purchased beer, his net carbon footprint would be increased totally erasing any benefit gained.

Hey, too them it is just time for the pay off. They were totally on board with what the Democrats wanted for the last 5 years and now they want their reward. GE is pissed that the Cap and Trade bill didn't pass, that killed them. This is a consolation prize of sorts at everyone else's expense. Look for GE to spin off their wind mill mfg .... oh sometime around 2012
