That's what I thought too when I saw that last bit, despite enjoying the series as a whole.
My opinion? I think they ended up squandering the budget for those last episodes on hookers and blow, and ended up not having enough money left to do anything except recycle a lot of footage and use their killer high from the cocaine to come up with something so bizarre it would *have* to be hailed as genuis:
(watches last episodes)(thinks, hmm, I have nbo idea what the hell just happened. I think it was total crap, but maybe it was really so profound that I just didn't get it.) "Gee, that was, uh, deep, dude. Yeah, deep profound stuff." "Um, yeah, deep. Right."
Sounds like a case of the Emperor's new clothes to me.
I dunno, maybe it *was* deep, but all I know is the 8+ people in the room all echoed my "What the f**k?" sentiment as soon as the credits rolled.
