Out of curiosity, what will happen if they spoof the MAC address on the stolen stuff? Or Is it the only identification? (Don't answer the specifics, just curious..)
(Hm.. better still, try to copy the MAC address and spoof it on an innocent student, *that* student will be busted and the thief walks free).
