My Kyocera has a 3.5mm courage jack and Pogo pin charging. Another Sonim may be my next phone. Sure there's no 3.5mm adapter, but you can change batteries and plug in headphones or an adapter for 3.5mm while still charging. My PinePhone was tough to get accustomed to. Point being there is still innovation and useful ports--you just have to leave the fold.

Comment no to spying and ads in my house, on phone I carry (Score 1) 37

My conference room monitor was more expensive than a "smart" TV, but my living room time is too precious. If I'm in someone's house and they have this, my Tourettes syndrome will kick in and I'll announce the household's plans for meth production, illegal arms manufacturing, human trafficking etc. Digital existence (computing, entertainment) sound like a page out of George Orwell's 1984 with the difference being people volunteering to hand over their liberty. I suppose if folks welcome Google into their browser, it's not much more outrageous to subject their loved ones eyes/ ears to a barrage in the living room. It's quite a race to the bottom.
