Cooked meat is actually HARDER to digest than raw meat.

Do you have a source for that? I recently read Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human, which dives pretty deeply into early human diets and impact of cooking. He cites various research that cooked meat is easier to digest than raw meat, including the (rather horrific) experiments of William Beaumont, who extracted and analyzed partially digested foods from his patient's abdominal wounds.

You're off by a factor of 20 on the cost: The Oculus Quest 2 is $400, and it's a pretty impressive hardware package for the price. The head/hand tracking is great. Forget the metaverse garbage - the draw here is gaming. I've been an avid gamer for 30 years, and there are some truly impressive experiences in VR. I'm tempted to call Half Life:Alyx (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2W0N3uKXmo) my favorite game of all time. That one requires a gaming PC (can stream to Quest over wifi). $8/month actually sounds quite reasonable - most VR titles are $20-$40. Walkabout Mini Golf may sound like a lame draw, but it's actually an amazing game.
