You've 30 years experience, been in several start-ups, and remain clueless about what's next. So you are clearly not the one to drive a new company.
Make a "short list" of people you know who were principals of the previous start-ups - people you respect for their business knowledge and accomplishments. Ask them for advice.
Do have a working prototype of the invention? Have you done a patent search to see if your invention is novel?
If I were you, while I was doing this, I would get a day job, unrelated to your invention, and spend my spare time writing some software (your field) to go with your prototype.
