The Associated press is reporting on the sentencing of an Arizona teenager for file sharing infractions he committed as a minor. After pleading guilty to "possession of unauthorized copies of intellectual property", he has been sentenced to 3 months in prison, 3 years probation, community service and a hefty fine. Everyone remembers the outcry over the 12 year old girl sued by the RIAA for file sharing - is prosecution of minors for file

The ninth circuit court of appeals has overturned a lower court's decision, stating, among other things, that the FCC made a mistake in its decision to allow cable television providers a monopoly on providing internet service via the television cable infrastructure. Assuming that the decision isn't overturned by the Supreme Court, does this decision portend a future for cable internet service like the current state of DSL? Will other ISPs even be interested?
