So here we have Apple an American company, Samsung a South-Korean one and the United States Patent also an American entity. Now I don't know as a Canadian who has been observing Americans for a while how much credibility, even with truckloads of facts or legal proof, any American is willing to give to a foreign entity, but I still find it far fetched to believe Samsung has any chance at all to have anything enforced in this one. Apple will change the colours, US patents will say it's OK, new patent, case closed/appeals ensue, jobs preserved.

When the US starts paying what other countries pay for fossil fuel (as any European could say), then maybe solar power research will skyrocket. Until then, as it's not even currently appealing profit-wise, it's quite sad to say but only military applications and some rare initiatives (often subsidized) remain and that's just because soldiers can't be carrying their weight in oil to fuel the devices they use and batteries are still inconvenient. Let's give it a few more years, but recent events in the middle east should help a few make up their minds.

I know what they are trying to achieve, they want to get rid of the "professional" trouble makers that highjack protests and make them escalate. When they wear masks, usually if you search them you realize they came prepared.

Well it's actually harmless until someone needs to discredit you for some reason. I'm pretty sure it's easier to justify firing someone who would have FB posts of them being stupid compared to someone who would not. Everyone commits minor crimes but if you provide your own proof against yourself don't be surprised you get prosecuted.

When we talk about Iran, we say that their government wants to control the freedom of it's people. In the United States, we say that laws "protect" the freedom of it's people. Maybe people forget where the laws come from? Every government is hell-bound on censoring the internet right as we speak, and there's little anyone can do with online posts, we cannot fight back with the weapons they control...

We live in the real world, actually, where 49.5% of Quebec voters are separatists. Not a majority, but certainly "a bunch."

That was 17 years ago, by the way. Your world may be "real" but it's outdated.

With population over 1 billion people, it makes me wonder what kind of democracy is actually applied in that country. Even winning an election 51 to 49 (supposed it works that way over there too), it would leave over 500 million dissatisfied...
