  • I talked to a plumber who said the *vast* majority of calls regarding toilet repair were caused by those little things that turn the water blue. Just something to think about...
    • Howso? Apart from trying to escape down the hole, I'm not sure what those little things could do.
      • Apparently the chemicals that make the water blue (or even the clear bleach ones) eat the gaskets and seals (both the stopper and the gaskets and seals between the tank and the seat and the one that seals the toilet to the pipe in the floor). It also increases the viscosity of the water meaning the toilet flush won't flow like it is designed too. So you end up with a leaky toilet that doesn't flush right, or won't flush at all or one that just leaks blue (staining) water all over your floor. If you're lu
