Journal dead sun's Journal: New Case - Same Computer 5
Well, I got all my pieces from my recent order, a new case, a fan controller, and a power supply to replace one that went a little bit ago. Then I went to CompUSA and got some pretty glowing fans and cold cathode tubes. The result, a nice blue glow in an aluminum case as evidenced by a few pictures I put up on my site. Next I have to get some round cables and probably some more wire wrapping, but all in all I think it looks pretty good.

There's a rocker switch on the cathode, but I'm going to do it differently than cutting a hole for that in my case. What probably isn't too clear from the pictures I took is there are a couple switches on the fan controller which will provide 5 or 12 volts, depending on the way they're thrown, or nothing when off. I'm planning on chopping the leads to the power inverter before they reach the switch or the power plug and then extending them up to the fan controller so I can turn them off at will. I wa

I've thought about moving to SATA, but my motherboard has no support for it. Beyond that I already have a parallel ATA drive that is big and fast enough for my current needs (80GB 8MB buffer 7200 RPM ATA133).
So it'd be at least a good $50 to put support for SATA in. Add a little more to change cables and a little more for the PATA->SATA adapter. I'm guessing something like $75 just to essentially switch a cable. Even with the huge ribbon cables the temperature in my case is floati
