Depending on price and bandwidth, they may be able to help break the monopolies, de facto or de jure, that are prevalent in many places throughout the US. Since my local town has failed many times to establish a broadband service, it would be nice to have some more choices. Amazing what you can accomplish with another ISP's offer in hand.
