Whether Wallyworld and ToysArentUs sell this game or not, it will probably be a big seller anyway. Anything that generates large amounts of controversy usually sells pretty well. Look at 2 Live Crew and that album that was banned everywhere and had music stores demanding ID upon purchase. That thing sold how many million copies?
I think most of the so-called media are missing the point with this game anyway. It was, at one time, called "Dave Mirra's BMX XXX" until Mirra decided not to lend his name. That tells me there is a solid game behind all the lowbrow humor in there. They hired comedy writers to write the dialogue...all the humor is basically Howard Stern type humor. Howard's demographic is the one that will be buying this game anyway...the funny stuff will be lost on the kiddies.
I've seen several mentions of the nudity involved and how that in Europe it isn't a big deal. They are right..the bare body in America is seen as something terrible and horrifying but yet other things are given a pass. I think everyone needs to lighten up on games anyway. If parents would boot some ass when the kid gets out of line, they wouldn't have to worry about Susie whacking her classmates.
