Even if your statement were true, which it isn't, I'm perfectly fine with the economy takeing a hit while righting the ship.

I prefer to live in a country, not an economy. First, let's figure out what kind of a country we want to live in, *then* we figure our what kind of an economy will support it, rather than the way around.

I'm really tired of this notion that the economy is an angry volcano god we have to keep throwing virgins into to appease. First, we do what's good for the interests of the citizens of the country. If the economy doesn't like it, it'll just have to suck it up.

Submission + - Say Hello to Biodegradable Microplastics (ucsd.edu) 1

HanzoSpam writes: Microplastics are tiny, nearly indestructible fragments shed from everyday plastic products. As we learn more about microplastics, the news keeps getting worse. Already well-documented in our oceans and soil, we’re now discovering them in the unlikeliest of places: our arteries, lungs and even placentas.

Microplastics can take anywhere from 100 to 1,000 years to break down and, in the meantime, our planet and bodies are becoming more polluted with these materials every day.

Finding viable alternatives to traditional petroleum-based plastics and microplastics has never been more important. New research from scientists at the University of California San Diego and materials-science company Algenesis shows that their plant-based polymers biodegrade — even at the microplastic level — in under seven months. The paper, whose authors are all UC San Diego professors, alumni or former research scientists, appears in Nature Scientific Reports.

I'll start worrying about Nazis when I see them putting little boys in dresses and cutting off their dicks. Until I do, I'll do my worrying about the people who really are putting little boys in dresses and cutting off their dicks, and they aren't the Nazis. Nazis would be a step up.

Right and left are relative, with respect to the prevailing political spectrum, which obviously differs according to time and place. In the context of Germany, the Nazis were opponents of the communists and the social democrats, so yes, they were right wing with respect to their opposition. They couldn't reasonably be considered anything else.
