Comment Premiums based on your proven risk (Score 1) 140

I would love to have the old way of calculating premiums back when you started high and then when you showed to be responsible and didn't have accidents it went way down. If you did have accidents the premium went up again.

This way it's more of a loan where you have to pay back and less trying to predict the future with massive data collection and strange, prejudiced looking, algorithms.

You mean like The Pirate Bay:

"This is only a test. We really want to get rid of all the ads. But we also need enough money to keep the site running.
Do you want ads or do you want to give away a few of your CPU cycles every time you visit the site?
Of course the mining can be blocked by a normal ad-blocker."

Comment Pebble (Score 1) 427

I have the same opinion on features as you and I think the Pebble is close enough so that is why I'm wearing one rigth now and it's a long time since I wore a watch but I got really tired of pulling up my smartphone from my pocket all the time. Very happy with it so far. With a 3rd party app I can also get just the right amount of notifications.

Comment Get past the inevitable accidents (Score 1) 273

The interesting part is if we can get past the knee jerk reactions when the autonomous car has hit its first car, has been hit by other car due to confusing behaviour, has killed its first pedestrian, has gone over its first cliff killing the passengers etc because accidents will happen. Accidents will have to be investigated as thoroughly as air plane crashes.
