Not being able to go to the bar for a while is not surrendering our freedom. Not being able to see a movie in a theatre is not surrendering a freedom. It's making a minor sacrifice to protect those who, despite apparently being not statistically relevant for the OP, still matter to people. And those people will interface with people in the general populous. If it was as easy as "don't like it don't participate" that'd be great, but sadly the virus does not seem to respect that particular notion.
