Journal cyranoVR's Journal: Ciao da Roma! 6

Two hours until our train leaves so I figured I'd catch some time on the 'Dot. Damn, Internet cafés are expensive over here.

While I was in Milan I got to fence at a Sociéta del Giardino, which was awesome.

"VH1's Momenti Cento più Scandoloso degli Celebriti" is very entertaining - and educational(!)** - when it has Italian subtitles (** if your goal is to learn Italian slang for certain bodyparts).

What does it mean, "Dá mi' culo?"

"Your military leadership is FOO BAR. SNAFU is self-contradictory. Please don't give up so easily."

  • I saw a half-hour National Geographic presentation on the Giardino in Milan. It looks freakin amazing and has a very old history. The fencers there are also some of the best in the world.

What's the name of that Italian from Milan who won like 4 olympic games in a row?
    • Nedo Nadi

However, I don't know if he fenced at Giardino (to lazy to get up and check By the Sword).

Sidenote: I fenced with Rota while at Giardino. That was pretty cool too.

The fencing room at Giardino looks like fencing rooms look in the Movies.
    • "Sidenote: I fenced with Rota while at Giardino. That was pretty cool too." Okay. I officially hate you now. Though I almost got to train with Pavel Kolobkov, that is pretty sweet. Nedo Nadi wasn't the guy who I was thinking of. This one was in the 50s or 60s and had a rather large name. He won the most olympic medals in history I believe.
  • I'm guessing it means just about the same thing.

Help me, I'm a prisoner in a Fortune cookie file!
